My husband and I have been pet care professionals for 14 years now. We started out as part-time employees working at vet clinics, boarding facilities, and grooming salons.

In 2007, after completing a one-year apprenticeship, my husband became a full-time groomer while I returned to school to finish my business degree. Shortly after, in April 2011, we opened The Beached Dog, a small grooming salon and pet sitting business on Seabrook Island, SC.

Two years later, in August 2013, we partnered with friends and opened Head to Tail DaySpa & Inn, a full-service boarding, daycare, and grooming facility located in Charleston, SC.

We certainly have a passion for working with animals, but in 2019, we decided we were ready to make some business changes that would allow us to travel and live more adventurously. In addition to being animal lovers, we are also outdoor enthusiasts who love to hike, bike, and explore wild places.

So we created Unleash the Happiness, an all-inclusive traveling pet care company that allows us the best of both worlds. We get to continue working with animals and we now have more freedom to travel and explore!

From the time this new journey began in April of 2019, we’ve traveled from the coast of South Carolina to southern Colorado, then north to British Columbia, back south to central Oregon, and now we’re back in Del Norte, Colorado where we plan to settle down for a while.
